we are not the body, we are not the mind, we are not the prana(life energy). How can we say? Body is changing continuously. Even though the body is mutilated or burnt, we identify it as the body of you by dna tests or any other tests. second thing is , we say it is my body, that means, we are different from body. If guru is not there, if you get eligibility to have guru, the God will show you a guru. sometimes, a guru come in search of you. Without guru , it is almost impossible to realize self.To get the eligibility to get a guru, or to advance in the self realization path, we should cultivate good habits, live in better way as presecribed in relegious books,. Time was very favourable to him to run the country under his power (military rule). In a referendum he got favourable votes and he continued his ruling and kept pakistan in dark . He wrote a book also as if he was going to be a historic figure. But , times changed. The destiny is not favourable. He had to give way to the changes. The power is slipping from his hands. His own men in army are disowning him. sooner or later he will go into exile, which is the only recourse left to him. The lesson learnt is that never think any power, position as your permananent thing. Your own hair and teeth are not staying with you till you die , then what is this power?

Two days back an ACP (rajbir)who was notorious for encounter killings, was shot dead by a real estate dealer in Delhi. This is an interesting news. The ACP till now killed 56 people under the fake encounters. One movie also was made by ram gopal verma with the name ab tak chappan. The life story episode of this ACP teaches us one thing. If you kill you will also be killed by some one, in a worst manner. Your life loses the real value. This ACP became very corrupt and extorting money from people. He was having many pending enquiries. Human rights association decried his actions. Now he met his worst part of his life . This may be engineered by some more local people. The ACP security was almost Z category. I dont know why such notorious person requires that much costly security at the cost of people's money. The funny thing is, when his death time approached , he himself sent away his security persons, and prepared himself unknowingly to quit the world in miserable way. what we learn? simple life is better than a life like a parasite. sandalwood smuggler veerappan too met his miserable death after evading the police for a decade . He killed hundred elephants for their ivory tusks. But finally he left the world like a mad dog shooted out. he too left the world with empty hands.

Recently i have been to tiruvannamalai and visited bhagawan sri ramana maharshi ashram too , which is in that tiruvannamalai city, in tamilnadu. I have lot of respect , reverence for bhagawan ramana maharshi because i heard His greatness through famous, reliable saints and seers like sundara chaitanyananda . So i paid a visit to His (ramana maharshi) asram. It is was very placid, clear, saintly and good place to worship. They are (desciples) are worshipping the idols, shivalinga just like any temple but the maintanance and the sanctity of atmosphere around ashram was very poius. Desciples are silently meditating and praying in the main hall. the fragrance of agarbatti is very wonderful.peacocks of two three different colors are wandering in the ashram precincts without fear. i observed one white peacock too.
i purchased one book and one dvd to know about ramana maharshi. Infact, his path of know thyself or find the origin of "I" was very difficult for me to follow, though i fully agree it is the correct path.After coming home, i made some time to play the dvd and that presentation in that dvd was really capturing

Most of the times, we suspect some unknown thing behind a visible thing, and assume that would harm us. But in reality it is not like that. There would not be any unknown thing except God behind every thing. Though some people plot a net connaive , it would not work because the unknown thing behind the visible hurdle is God only. So, it is not wise to scold are blame some one with some assumptions. Wait till every thing is clear. Even if they plotted something, every thing goes as per the wish and command of God who looks after all . If God wishes me to suffer and undergo some ordeals, difficulties, i would love to face them as every thing that comes from God is a gift and boon for me.

ananda doesnot depend on anything outside. if it is based on any external object, event it would be disturbed and will not be continuous. It is not permanent and is not real or truth.If itself is the joy, self effulgent, then it always exists and independent. That is the god.what we see , what we perceive are contaminated and biased. our mind creates the world. but is the snake real? is the snake bite real? then what about the fears about snakes when we walk in garden? if you are not afraid, you will not be cautious and loose life. we should not lose life which is the primary object in our plane.ok. instead of getting scared of snakes, notice the danger , take precautions and be safe. Important thing is you should not have the feeling of fear in your mind.

You should treat it as a game of snakes and ladders.when we work in this world, we are afraid of job less ness. it causes fear, but another job anyway comes to us. why should we be afraid? only pray god, play the game. make your alternative resources ready to meet the adversity. But this is not so easy. Whatever you make alternative arrangements, those may not come to rescue in case or danger or need. So, if you have the invisible, invincible grace of god on your side, every thing in your pocket would be an alternative arrangement in dangerous , needy conditions. So, we have to have His or Her grace, blessings. Ok, what to do for that? I think and believe and feel that remembering his name, uttering his name, going to temple regularly and praying would
definitely help for the quantity of blessings we want in our day to day life needs. When you want to start a business or improve business as per your wish and design, you must vigorously pray for Her or His help. beg, yell for help. And put all out efforts of yours. Then your boat slowly starts sailing towards the desired shore.

we are in a speed age. A faster age than our predecessors who spent their lives in past centuries and decades. They followed the paths shown by different peers, gurus, masters or prophets and some how achieved their goal in spiritualism, self realization. But now times have changed. The roads laid till now and available for spiritual travel are narrow, congested and dusty roads . These may not safely
accomodate the present day requirements. Our requirements travel in faster vehicles like car. But the spiritual paths, customs, methods available to us as on this day are like narrow dusty roads meantfor bullock carts and horse dragged carts. These are not suitable for present day needs and so can not answer well for our needs and questions. Though truth is always same and without any change, the paths to reach the truth destinations would change. The methodologies, the description for god and the benefit for worship have lost their meaning and thus became less attractive . The requirements and demands of worshippers, spiritual aspirants have drastically changed and their assumptions, knowledge have also changed. Hence now there is dire need to change the old spiritual definitions, spiritual methods immidiately for better performance and to reap real, better benefits in the future

oflate, i found a peculiar , interesting thought flashing in my mind. day after day , year after year is passing. each day is filled with events, persons, objects and feelings. All these together create ripples in mind. The past days or events, or emotions has nothing to do with me in this present. likewise, the future events.

But, all through the limited life span, my energy is spent away in worrying about the passing events, emotions , days and years. I found that the days i spent gloomy, depressed, worried has nothing to do with me who is in present day. Ofcourse happy days happy moments are ok, because our real self is happiness. so, why i should worry about the people whom i met, with whom i work, the events, incidents i see? But can i neglect them and go ahead? at every point your interaction, your response is required. So, at the most just act as if involved in all these but never care for these because each and every incident, event, person would become a history by tommorrow.
Hence this may be called unreal or myth or midhya.Then what is truth? The name of god, the form of god, the mantra which i was doing from my birth are not changing. They are without even an iota of change. So they can be truth. My sleep , my hunger were also with me all through my life but there changes observed in size and quantity. The best thing is to associate each and every incident , meeting of every person, losing of some thing, gaining of another thing with the name of Lord. Though you do not if your prayer reaching Him or not, if he is interested in you are not, His name is in your hands and it is bound to help you.

Pratibha patil candidature for presedential polls has became hot debating subject. Many a learned man, professor, CEO denounced her urge to occupy the respected position with her black dirty past history. Pratibha patil is involved in gratifying scandal, in which she started a cooperative bank in her local place, favoured her relatives in issuing loans beyond the capacity of the bank and failed to collect the loans. As a result the bank died or closed. Pratibha patil also received big chunk of loan from this bank. Now if a woman of this stature aims for a presedent post of India Inc, what should we say? What is her eligibility , right to sit in that seat? Her beiing woman and being supported by the crooked political party? every voter of this electoral college knows about her and dislike to waste his or her vote on a least competetive candidate.. If the secret ballot throws her out of the race, it would not be a matter of surprise.

It is highly recommended to worship God, what ever may be your relegion. Pray or worship in your own way, as recommended by your relegion or sect or cult. But praying is important. Meditation is a bit better than worship. Worship helps to achieve your day to day goals while meditation helps to know yourself.
Many people are confused how to do meditation. it is simple. just spend some time in the worship place or church and think about your god or guru, as if you are going to picturise an episode on him for a tv. Imagining and thinking in mind about your God or guru comes under the basic meditation. Infact my guru declared that walking is meditation and talking is also meditation. But we need purposeful , useful meditation for self realization.

when we believe in god and depend on Him for guidence, still we go on doing futile efforts for achieving some thing. suppose we want to apply for a job which god accepts and blesses for us.. we pray Him to show us a good job which he decides for us. But, then we have to apply lots of jobs where we are rejected.. finally we get one job.. then, if we think why God allowed us to apply all those useless .
jobs, dream about them as if God is going to give us those as gift.. If he loves to curtail useless work, when some thing is decided, he can stop us when we request Him to allow us to go to the interview, if only if he likes it.. Even when we depend on God , we have to do lot of futile efforts. When we sow seeds, we have to sow dead and useless seeds also, he is not separating them from good seeds for us.. i think he loves our effort and experience.

It is unfortunate that we always expect to fulfill our agenda of 100% for our issues .you expect that your Guru , wife, children, office staff Subordinates should act as per your way of thinking . If any difference found, then we remove them from our list. Or antagonize them. Feel bad about their approach.
Sri Sukhabhodhaananda told in a discourse meeting, that a devotee came and asked him why he was playing Volley Ball. A Guru should not play games as per that desciple’s knowledge, so he removed swami Sukbodhananda as guru on that day onwards from his mind. Swami said with smiling face that there was no rule that Guru should not play volley ball as there was no volley ball during Vedic time and he was also least bothered whether that person accepted or not accepted him as Guru.
First of all , a sishya (disciple)should bother for Guru’s Knowledge and how he is teaching only and not bother about his dress and other things.
The world is in existence before you’re born and also exists after your death also. So you must always remember that you are a guest in this world and never expect world to act as per your wishes, whims and fancies.
I got opportunity to study VISHNU PURANAM which was telecast by Ravi Chopra who produced Maha Bharatam. In that, an 8 year boy DRUVA went to forest for TAPAS (penance) for DHARSHAN of VISHUNU. While he was doing TAPAS and facing lot of difficulties. Then Laxmidevi requested Vishnu to give DHARSHAN as he was 8 years old only and did many years TAPAS for his DHARSHAN. VISHNU said with smiling that BRAHAMA is the person who creates creation and also decides when Vishnu Darashn happens, as recorded with his birth , according to his prarabda KARMA i.e. the result of their good and bad actions which is as per the cosmic rule. Vishnu also told “Even Brahma or My self can not relax though it was made By us”.
Present Law makers try to break rules for their selfish motives.
Great devotees like RAMANA Maharshi, RAMAKRISHNA PARAMAHAMSA were also suffered from their deceases. But never prayed to remove the trouble. As Ramakrishna Parmahams told his devotees that PRARABDA Karma expires by consuming it only. But God gives enough strength to devotees to face them. Nobody can escape from Prarabda.
Bhaktas like Raman, SATYA SAI BABA are realized that they are not body or mind and only CHAITANYA.So they never bother about body or mind problems
We don’t know the PRARABDA Karma of our self and others.

God only Know PRARABDA Karma of all people and gives fruits of our past PUNAYA or PAPA Karma at appropriate time which makes success or failures of our works. So in Bhagavid Geeta, the one important Verse which we have to chant during our Leisure times as many times as possible is KARMANYEVA ADHIKARISTE …………. .The meaning is: To DO YOUR DUTY WITH OUT EXPECTING the RESULT On your Deed as like

Our PRARABDA Karma’s Effect which may be either (+25% OR --25%)
Total Result Either 100% Or 50%.
We are success on our work if we get 100% Or We get Failure if our result is 50%. So our success or failure will depend as per above table. If GOD gives +25%, then we will success or If God gives ----ve according our PRARABDA, we will get failure in our deeds.
Due to lack of Knowledge WE will blame persons, time and Society.
You are only the responsible person,for Your Happy or Sorrow while others are NIMITHA MATRA (just an excuse, pretext ).
GOD only Knows when to be punished as per PRARABDA and Cosmic law but not our personal Agenda.

Good and bad are two relative terms.. what is good and what is bad changes from time to time and place to place..But a learned wise man, or saint can tell you what is good and what is bad for all times for all men. These sayings formed into epics or sacred texts. A good life should fulfil the objective of your coming into this world. Your good life living should give you happiness and should have no repentances at the time of leaving this body. The angle in which we see:
Many incidents that occur in our life, day to day, will appear as you see them. Mostly, unless we are seasoned with highlever spiritual guidance and practice, we see every incident in our way, read the meaning from our mental dictionary, apply colors from our pallette. So, we can not understand why some thing has happend to us and we start treating it as a problem and we go on feeling mental agony.
When your dearest person does something, that pained you in a way. You have lots of thoughts questioning why he did like that. More than that, your ego instigates you to retaliate his action and keeping him away from you.
But if you see the same act from his or her side, it may appear differently..From third person angle it may be a smallest triavial matter.
Think about the super God's angle.. i dont know how it looks, but it may look as a meaningless passing cloud.
So, i think, it is waste of life to think about any happened incident and hope it should have happend otherway. Take it as it is and look at it just as it is.. This is told by gurus too.

Disappointments in life:
Though i have some good skills in many fields, though i have good luck period as per the horoscopes, though i have big dreams supported by my hard work, i am lagging behind all my contemporaries and my juniors.. i donot know why.. i dont know where the problem is.
I have taken vrs. while working in public service also, none satisfied with my talents and bosses got antogonised.. perhaps because of my stubbborn mentality and a belief that i know much.
After that i had to change jobs very frequently once in a year or twice in a year, and almost all times employer indicating me to quit job. I dont know where the trouble is.Though i have courage, patience, self confidence , the testing is approaching limit.
Always finance is problem. day after day, year after year i am going into debts.. without fail going into deeper debts.
I assign this too to my horoscope. Otherwise, there is no good reason to fail in every effort to become big.. failed in us assignment to settle there, failed in dubai assignment, got cheated in malaysian asignment, new zealand assignment, green card opportunity, shares, job, education, and now also tailing in this google adsense business. But i have strong belief, confidence that i would and i should succeed in this last attampt to free myself from finance and obtain financial independence so that i proceed towards real independence as per scriptures and bhagawad geetha.

These are to help you to know thyself. When the instruction is going to be difficult to understand, easy examples are provided along with the command or instructions. This is to avoid the confusion in you for knowing thyself through the instructions. Hundreds of years have been spent by the forefathers , and gathered most useful information for you to know thyself and achieve the goal in this life.
Bible, quoran, Bhavadgeetha etc are all of this category. We treat them pious, worship them and have fear for every line in that. We should not be afraid of these but get full benefit of these for self realization. If you donot know thyself, or fail to know thyself by without reading referring to these or misunuderstanding these scriptures, it would be a big curse for your life. What we have to do is, take up any interesting relegious book, read through them, try to understand them, or get help for a learned person in understanding them. I met my cousin recently who is of 35 years age. He is not eating iceream or sweets with a fear that he is overweight and he may get blood pressure and sugar complaint as a heredity. He also confirmed that he is getting of late small pains in the knee and guessed that is because of over weight. His weight is only 75kg and height is about 5ft 4 inches. I have seen many many people with this worry. All are afraid of obseity or over weight to their age. In my opinion, the most dangerous part or harm we can do to our body is injection of fear about a trouble to the body.
When you slightly suspect that you may get blood pressure or sugar complaint, your body would be ready to receive it. Every cell in your body would be ready to identify the trouble and give passive resistance. It is like lost battle because of fear. You loose that battle before you start it. Similarly, when you body hears about the disease many times, it would be ready to accept that trouble, sickness otherwise the cells will fight to kill that new antibody or anything till they die.
Suppose if you discuss more about chinese guest who would visit your home at any day and take his goods kept in your home, which belongs to him. Your family members would always be listening this talk, conversation about the chines guy. When you are asleep in your room, any chines person may visit your home on his own work , eg chines sales person, then the family member who opens door and sees him, readily assume he is that chinese guest and further the member may show the place of goods to be taken. The new sales person may silently take away the goods and vanish. When you get up and find, the family member excuses you for mentioning the chines guest name always and the culprit for this folly is you alone!
Similarly, do not trust any magazine article, doctor's free advice about the possible diseases to you and never trust them. Not much harm if you do not trust God, but harm is sure if you trust these theories. We all have to have positive affirmations only because they change our body and life.
Know thyself everything in this world is Reaction, Reflection and Resound. What you do to others will come back to you, how you act so it happens and what you talk so it happens.

When we are living here, eating here, healthy here, there should be some purpose behind allowing us to be in this arena by Lord God. What may be that objective? without objective how the clever God allows us to waste away the valuable resources on this earth? Ofcourse it is not easy to define the purpose of life in simple terms, but we can simplify the purpose of life into few lines.
Loka samastha sukhino bhavanthu is the sanskrit dictum which means "all the world should be happy ". We live in such harmonious way that we do not disturb the peace of the world with our living and behaviour. More than this, the second step is we should help fellow living beings to be happy, to the extent possible.
By sharing the resources you have, when needed , with others to the extent possible, it gives meaning to your life. My Guru told a wonderful small story. Once a traveller is sleeping on the outside verandah of a hut,after setting dark. The place was just sufficient to lay him there. Meanwhile rain started and two more travellers came running to that shaded place, for protection from rain. So, this good samaritan invited them to his small place and he sat up and offered the remaining place to others. Thus he shared his place with them. The rain increased and three more passengers also came there, drenching and requested place. Then he got up, stood on the floor and invited them in telling to them " please come, we share this place" . Thus he shared the little place he got with fellow human beings, in case of need and this is sharing of life , resources with others. This pleases Lord God.

God and Devil are not two separate entities:

Recently i visited the sacred place pondicherry aurobindo ashram. I find the place is quiete interesting to live peacefully with philosophical thinking and practice. Lots lots of foreigners settled there and move in that french colony on bicycles and foot. The samadhi is very peaceful and good meditation place. I just got a chance to quickly go through a translated version to savithri . But some points in that book perplexed me and made me stop reading that. The translator was discussing about spirits, devils and accepting that they are there as really as God is there. He also confirmed that Shri aurobindo (aurobindo), Matha ji also spoke , commanded those spirits or devils. Aurobindo observed that his wall clocks were stopped by some devils, spirits and he commanded them to go away. This has thrown me into confusion. Because my gurus never mentioned about devils, spirits. Even if they are there, they can not venture to come to the vicinity of such learned , sacred person and they never play with them. Second point where i got confused is... the author was mentioning some worlds he visited. He wrote that there is a world where he could not find Satyam (truth) there. This statement confirmed that some thing wrong with the writer. Because Truth alone prevails at all times and at all places by definition. So, i closed the book and came away from further research in this cult. Sundara chaithanya was a great preacher cum philosopher that he strongly established from Adwaitha vada (non dualism theory) that the super atman, or God only prevails every where at all times and nothing second entity exists. Even if you agree that devils are there, they are the other form of God. If God is different from devil, the supremacy of God is lost and he would be afraid of the second entity which is ridiculous.

Ignorance Heights

Of all the human beings , some , about 1% get the wise thought of working towards knowing themselves. They get up, start attending some cermons , lectures and read five dozens of books on relegion and philosophy.Then they get the greatest thought that they learnt a lot and their mind start commenting on the scriptures, gurus and entire relegion. Out of those above 1%, 90 percent people go this way and start spreading their own message, commentary. I met similar " great philosophers". Recently i am working with some founder of my company who spends quite a lot of time in so called service to mankind like medical camps etc. He claimed that he studied a lot and did " Ph.D" in relegion and philosophy. Initially i was very happy to have his company as the company of learned people elevates you to higher planes of living and thinking.
Alas! When i discussed with him for few days, i got fainted many times. He declared that Lord krishna attained only 3 chakras enlightenment in his body while adi shankara got 6 chakras. In his count, a man has 12 chakras in his body. Lord krishna's Power is only one third of real vishnu. All yogis spending time in penace, tapas are wasting their time..We should not construct hospitals but educate people to purify themselves. This way goes his preachings.
Now, in my strong opinion, when you do not have patience to accept that there are lots and lots of great learned men in this world, you are still in ignorance . When we are ready to judge some guru, saint and declare he is fraud, then definitely we can say the first fraud is you. Because the end of learning is that we know nothing and any thing can happen here at any moment for the pleasure of God.

Mind is a Mad Monkey!

Our mind, they say, is a mad monkey. further they say it is drunk ,accidentally walked on fire and it was caught by an evil spirit. Then think how it acts. How well said by our gurus.

Whenever i see some body achieved , attained some thing good, i wish i too should do it in that way or better way. when i hear some one flew abroad , my mind wishes to go abroad.I am thinking about the root of this thought. what ,finally, this mind wants? does it know the actual purpose of our life and existence ? I am a bit better , i watch the dances of the mind in weak minded persons. my god, it jumps like a baby monkey..it wants all, it rejects many.

we have to reject all these flow of wishes, thoughts and slow down the thought process. that is a milestone in our journey. let any thing happen, i am what i am.

i have many dreams to grow rich, to attain fame. to control industries. but one second, i rethink and now, at this stage i understand it is not possible to do all these things, as they require lot of time to achieve these. why cant i be happy with what i got. really , absolutely i am happy with my small, petty problems. if i have big arena to dance, i have big problems to worry. i feel and thank God for his blessing.

Researching the methods shown by preachers

yesterday i watched a video about a lecture given by Sri acharya rajaneesh (aka osho). my brother sent it for me on my request. i want to know more about his method of teaching and his philosophy.Many many good teachers are and were available in india to explain about our indian philosophy or universal truth. I treat them like this. Many gurus are very good in explaining the available subject in different ways. They tell how we should understand . But very few , really very few are available who teach us what we should understand. they can teach how also. But the subject to contemplate would be given only by these avatars, maharshis who have actually travelled in the path. some times i find it interesting to listen to the ordinary preachers, or semi gurus who are good at explaining and diverting us to goal, some how by inspiring us in some way. But i am not sure if they reached the goal. The real avatars or enlightened gurus travelled the path, and avatars them selves are the goals too. so my tentative plans are to study rajaneesh, Jkrishnamurthy,ramana maharshi, arabindo to know how they showed the way. Out of the above some are really enlightened gurus like ramana maharshi. The problem is , i am incompetent enough to decide who is real guru or enlightened. Since i am searching for me, i am compelled to use my yardsticks which are purely subjective. Yet , i hope i get some benefit out of my search. My first impression with acharya rajaneesh is not very impressive. Yet i will continue to know more.

When i recollect about the great avatar meher baba's story in many books, i appreciated the great event of collecting about 30 Masts from in and around India and keep them in one place. A mast is a person who is in the path of self realization, and stuck in the 4th or 5 level. He looks like a mad man for outside world. He never cares the world and drives it away. A great saint or avatar only can help them to go ahead into next plane in their journey. I also read in those books, that once one deciple opened the door of meher baba in midnight and fainted, as he saw peculiar demons or spirits taking orders from him . Actually all are forbidden to enter the room at those hours. It is quite interesting if you select some books and read from him, as it gives lot of worthy information about this world, creation, saints, avatars, God. You may search in the amazon box provided in this blog to search with " meher baba" keyword. I recommend the discourses book from the collections.

The book that shook me!

The book 'an autobiography of a yogi' really shook me and impressed me. I was searching seriously to know about the mystic powers, yogis,God, miracles etc at one time, few years ago, ; Then , i have taken this, accidentally and started reading. Though i have seen this book many times in stalls, i never knew about it. It is really a wonderful book for the person who want to know the saints, mystics, the ancient wisdom in India and real magical powers. you can read this book on line at Here. It was the autobiography of Sri paramahamsa Yogananda, who was with us till few years. Who lived for some time in USA too. Through him all the world knew the ancient indian mysitcs. It spell binds you while reading. It has changed the course of my life. I was and am very seriously impressed and affected by it. I strongly recommend to read this book

Jesus Christ is one of the few tallest buildings standing high in the history of mankind, where other buildings are all saints, gurus,avatars
and so on.It is not a must to be tall for a building, as some rich homes, hospitals, inns may not be tall but would be serving their purpose with required height of their own. Yet, taller building attracts many. Similarly, Jesus Christ , within his span of 33 years of life, made a remarkable history in the entire world.
As a proof, millions of people followed by, and are following and still follow. His teachings showed the way to the disturbed mankind what to do and what not .Everyone knows about Jesus and i need not repeat the same details here again. Jesus is an Avatar

Jesus is an avatar, if you look from the explanation angle of Ancient Indian Philosophy. God takes birth whenever it is required to control or destroy the disorder and to bring solace to the Good people. Avatars vary in their component structure of the God Power. For example, Rama has about 15/16 parts (component) of the entire God entity where as Lord Krishna is 16/16 parts with him as poorna(complete) avatar. Other avatars like varaha, narasimha will take potency from 1/16 to 12/16 or so, depending on their purpose of coming. Jesus is also the manifestation of the Same omni present God and the potency may be about 10/16 (though i can not decide). It is not belittling His avatar, but some guess on the words spoken by the ancient knowledge.

Ramana Maharshi-Self Inquiry

Fortunately, we all have a wonderful set of gurus, maharshis in the past 100 years, and they are really par excellent. They all manifested on this earth to provide the absolute knowledge in different forms to suit to the taste of the seekers. One of these gurus is Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi.
He was born to a middle class family,in Dec 30 1879, studied in missionary school till 16th year , in Madhurai, Tamilnadu, India. He renounced his interest in the mundane life, reached Tiruvannamalai and conducted penance for many years silently.All the years he was inquiring who really he is. It is not the body, mind, but some thing else. He has no guru but enlightened by his inquiry.
The Inquiry is " who is that knowing every thing, who is that answering to the call, who is this I :"
He was very simple lived saint, or guru. He has lots of disciples. I felt a bit difficult to understand the philosophy or method he suggested because it is very abstract and direct method for self realization. But his method is sure way to reach the destination.

Ramana maharshi left his body in 1950. Though he has not encouraged to show any type of miracles, but many are associated with him. He lived in Tiruavnnamalai, and that place has a pious hill called Arunachala. At the age of 16, when he heard the word arunachala first time, he fell unconscious and further reached this place.
What Saint sundarachaithanya says is though there is no guru to him in this life, his past life completed all the needed education through guru, and this life completed the last remaining small karma to attain his siddhi or Moksha.(nirvana).
He is surely the guru whose teachings must be read. He throws light on the areas which were not touched by any body in that way. Many followers, disciples compiled his history, teachings in the form of books

Drinking plenty of water is a good habit and it helps to improve our body condition as well as mental condition. When you drink litres of clean water, your body is full of fluids, and that body influences your mind to have good thoughts and avoids frustation and vexing up easily. know what? who is this self? if we know these thiings, it can be declared that we knew ourself.First question is can any body know himself? answer: Yes. Are there people who knew themselves now and here? answer: Yes, i have seen some people and they are living here. They know about them selves and about every self.
When you know yourself, you will automatically know every self in the universe. That is the secret.
Then why one person can not know himself so easily?
Because, he is unaware of what he is seeking. second thing is we are covered with lots of sheaths of ignorance which prevents us to know ourselves. When you remove these sheaths you will know your self.
How to remove?
Mantra is a first prescription. As discussed earlier, the gayatri mantra makes you pure to slowly grasp what you are doing, which side you have to go to reach your goal. Moreover, you will get devine help or gods grace to attain your goal.
second thing is , if you have a guru, or master or guide to monitor your progress , to cut short un necessary time consuming processes , your journey to goal will be quicker. The guru should have already travelled in the path successfully and reached the goal. These are called masters, gurus, saints .They know your past and they know exactly what is to be done by you to remove the sheaths of ignorance.
One more important thing is, if you go on reciting or remembering the name of God (be it what ever may be), you will surely get the eligibility to get a suitable master. so , start reciting or remembering the name of God right from now.
This knowing thyself is a big process for many people, because of their past life impressions. It may take few years to few generations to know your self.But we should not loose heart. when we start in this direction, we find lot of change in our life, our attitude, our personal powers even after two months of effort or sadhana.
Mantra for Health and controlling power:

Hindu mythology, vedic philosophy has an interesting concept or entity of Lakshmi, the godess of Riches . This concept of godess worship is rare in other spiritualism in other parts of the world. The concept has very deep meaning. Though many subtle forms of Lakshmi are available, mainly eight forms are very important. They are called Asta lakshmis (eight forms of lakshmi). These are symobolising very important sections of riches. Richness comes from different areas and will be in different forms. Rich ness should never be identified just with money.

Every thing which are important to make you really rich and Happy are identified as forms of Lakshmi. One of the great saint of India, who has given a jolt, to the bhakti cult in India in 19th century . In a word we can say that he is the seed of banyan tree, he grew and he expanded himself very tall and wide with innumerable roots. He was born just an ordinary poor boy in West bengal, in 1836 and his name was gadadhar chatterjee. He struggled a lot in his childhood. But he was born with lot of great samskaras and 90%completed effort to become a parama hamsa( highest order saint). He became , fortunately, the priest of Kali(godess kali) temple in calcutta. He treated the idol as real mother godess and worshipped . He used to see her and talk to her. He practiced lot of tantras too, to complete his spiritual journey. When he was worshipping jesus, he got the symtoms of jesus, his face shape resembled jesus. When he was worshipping Hanuman,(the monkey god), he got a tail to him and he could jump very long distances like a monkey. While doing some spiritual, kundalini type mystic practices, he got burnings , heat in his body. Then a sage totapuri came to rescue and helped him in those practices. Godess Kali advised him to have a guru for all these practices, and thus She proved that without a Guru you can not achieve perfection. He suggested a girl whom he is destined to marry, and he married her . She is Sarada devi. Ramakrishna treated her as his mother. Sarada devi was also a great saint.One more great thing he could accomplish in his life time is , gathering excellent deciples and carving Vivekananda who changed the bhakti cult like a whirl wind in his short span of life . Entire world and India has seen at him with lot of astonishment and reverence. Later, vivekananda preached all over america and europe and started Ramakrishna missions in india and abroad. Now these missions are serving the mankind just like red cross societies.
The first dialogue between vivekananda and Ramakrishna was very famous and useful.
Vivekananda( then Naren) asked " Have you seen God sir?" ( to this question, all people previously replied NO)
Ramakrishna: "Yes, I see God as clearly as i See You".
This reply converted vivekananda into his desciple. Vivekananda biography gives innumerable number of interesting accounts about his difficulties he faced as a monk, how he tested God, how God helped him directly and indirectly. Vivekananda spoke in the pariament of world relegions , in chicago, and his speech made all the audience, delegates spell bound. Swami vivekananda was a great , interesting personality. He could read a book of 1000 pages in a day and could remember any point from that book. He could shoot with rifle , long distance objects without fail, though he had no experience or training in rifle shooting. He swam across the turbulent ocean near kanya kumari and reach an island and spent three days in yoga samadhi. His lectures, his writings are a must to read, because they throw light on ancient philosophy reviewd entirely from modern outlook.

A man can not become God with full potency, though he him self is god.Evenafter knowing thyself, and doing lot of purifications for your past karmas, you may be similar to God in appearance and rank. But the creation and destroying powers will never be given to you, even if you reach and live in the palace of God. This is expalined by the words saameepya, saaroopya and saayujya. * Saameepya* means, you are given a rank to live in the vicinity of God, like living in his world, in his palace.If you are still great and earned more grace, you get *saaroopya,* which means you like Him and you dress exactly like Him in his palace. But you can not do the things which he can do, like creation, destroying. * Saayujya *menas merging in Him, there is no difference from Him and you are part of Him. Ganesh is an important lord, god in indian (hindu) relegion. So, for every work, for every auspicious work people used to pray for Vinayaka, lord of all troubles. All relegious activities would start only after praying to Lord Ganesha. Ganesh is son of Lord Siva and Parvathi. He is not born to any body, his idol was made by parvathi and life was given to him by Lord Shiva. Ganesha will have an elephant face. Because his original human face was chopped off, beheaded by Lord shiva with his trident but later he brought an elephant head and joined back and gave back lives. He passed a test put by His parents and won the supremacy over the troubles, ganas, hudles. In yoga sastra, it is mentioned that he is the lord of muladhara chakra, the first starting chakra for yoga meditation and kundalini practice. When you cross all the six chakras, only a person gets self realization and devine powers.

This practice is called kundalini. A person can do any thing when his kundalini energy awakes. kundalini is a sleeping serpent in the vertebrate, down most point. There is a famous movie actor and during an interview , he told that he received a message from his father that "Dress and address are very important for any man to become great in his life". The meaning of this is that if a person cares for his dress, apparel and also how he addresses others , then his journey would be fine. He can reach his goal. Though the message is given by an ordinary father, this has a very good sense in this. Normally, a person would be decided by his dress. What color of dress he is wearing, what combination of colors of apparel he is having, will be looked by the other person, and automatically an impression would be formed on him. Further his talk would be evaluated based on this first impression. This is testified by the Management books also. So, in normal world, when we want to impress some body in our day to day business, it is better to wear a good combination of dress, which gives pleasant appearance to others. It is not advisable to wear striking , gaudy color shirts or pants, though we personally like it. Let us keep those gaudy colors for our night robes. Full white color dress conveys a good , peaceful message to others while, a red color will help for providing confidence to the wearer . Life is a Path

Life is a path but not the goal: After getting this life, we spend the initial ten years crying for some thing and playing with some thing. As a child our interests never crossed beyond toys, games, sweets, eatables and may be books and pictures. We spend away that first child hood without even trying to understand .

Later period with some other interests like money and partners.When we reach old age, we have all worries about our life, our family. The great saint, Adi sankaracharya explained the same pitiable condition of a man, in his verses of Bhaja govindam (or Bhajagovindam, which means, praise the Lord). He says " During childhood interest in playing, during adolescence full interest in women and in old age full of worries, and where is the time to think about the God and the purpose of life?" He and his desciples wrote wonderful 12 verses to exhort about our wasting away our valuable time in life with trivial interests which will not save us. His every verse ends with " Bhaja govindam , Bhaja Govindam, Bhaja Govindam Moodha mathe" That means, Oh fool, praise the Lord, Praise the lord, and praise the lord . When the end time of life approaches any of your skills, your grammar, your talents ,money will not save you. Govinda is the name of Lord God. Another great unknown sanskrit poet compares the pitiable condition of a man's life with a butterfly.

Once a butter fly was enjoying the honey in a lotus flower. It forgot itself with the sweetness of the honey in the flower and spent lot of time drinking honey. Meanwhile, time is up, darkness fell and the lotus closed itself . Then butterfly ( or honey bee) worried and finally complacent that the lotus blooms early morning and it planned to escape at that time. But unfortunately, before early morning, an elephant plucked the lotus flower and the fate of the honey bee ended like that. Similarly, the man would be fully engrossed in the pursuit of earthly love, money , fame and loose his opportunity to fulfill the objective of his life. We are all in the same condition.

We plan that one fine day we start knowing ourself but none knows if that fine day comes or not. So, this life what we got is just a road that leads to our goal of self realization or evolution to God state. We should not think that this life itself is a goal and we are settling here with our money, houses and beautiful wife. This beautiful wife will be scared to touch the corpse of the man, when he dies. So, we should not believe this body as permanent. Great Guru says, this body is a bubble of water. None knows when it bursts. May be in the city, may be in a jungle or in the midst of water. Bursting is a must. Another great old poet of sankrit compares this life as a sojourn at a old inn or tavern. When sur rises, we have to start our journey. We should never think that the inn itself is our Home.

Lord Dattatreya is powerful god for Hindus.Many people worship him. He bestows special powers and the worshippers follow a different methodology when they worship Dattatreya . In a way he is the starter of the Guru culture worship , as it exists today. He belongs to Before Christ time period but he has descended on to earth in many avatars. One of those avatars lived in India around 18th century. Dattatreya is said to be son of the trinity brahma , vishnu and Eswar. The point is, Dattatreya (Avadhuta ,means great self realized master) described that he has 24 gurus , from the mother nature and he learnt great things from these gurus, for spiritual development. In other words he suggested that we should learn these qualities from the nature around us, to grow spiritually. The 24 Gurus are:the earth, air, sky, water, fire, moon, sun, pigeon, python; the ocean, moth, honeybee, elephant, the deer, the fish, the prostitute Pingala, the kurara bird (Hawk), the child; the young girl, arrow maker, serpent, spider and the wasp. This is called Guru Charitra. Devotees read this regularly and get their hearts filled with dattatreya. All the stories and incidents written in the book are very interesting and makes us well desciplined as they influence our mind very much and make us long for a guru. Thursday is very auspiciaous for all the worshippers of this Guru. We find 4 dogs sitting infront of him. It is told that these dogs are the actual vedas. Guru charitra should be read once to know more details about the gurus, and desciples and how they lived in ancient years, how dedicated they are for gurus.

Fate theory- Fake practice

Many times if we are believing in fate, feel that all the troubles and mishaps are because of the fate. Because of the bad deeds we have done in previous lives. We argue that all this low profile of our life is just because of the unfavourable planetary position in our horoscope or God's non challance. This is the case of the people, mostly from eastern side of the globe who strongly believe that every thing is done as per the fate written . They treat them as just a puppet in the cosmic show. This is true to a great extent but some conditions apply. When some thing great happens because of our effort, then we surely forget the above theory, and claim entire success to our wisdom, planning and meticulous approach and our talents so on and so forth. We just ignore that this may also be the result of fate and we have no significant role in this cosmic drama. One good example was cited by my Guru in this context. Once there was a farmer who used rear cows and sell the milk for his livelihood. He has many cattle which graze in the nearby pastures and also enter into some private fields now and then. Once few cows entered into the private farm of another landlord . When the landlord tried to drive away them with a stick, accidentally a cow received an unintended blow and died immidiately. No one will hit a cow so harshly, but some how it died because of some unknown reason. This landlord was in trouble. Because the farmer is a quarrelsome person and he may say anything and ask any compensation for this. So , slowly the landlord called the farmer. This is the dialogue between them: Farmer: "sir, why did you call me? why are you so gloomy? what is the reason?" Landlord:" oh my friend. today some thing bad has happend. In my farm, one cow has died when i was trying to drive it away from the farm.That is the reason for my sadness. I lost my mental peace with this event!" Farmer:"Dear sir, are you a fool? Who are you to kill an animal? everything happens as per the fate. You are only a puppet. The cow consumed its life span and so it died. You are not at all the reason or cause for its death. It is your foolish ness to worry without knowing the fate theory. You learn it from me. I believe in it very much." Land lord: :"Thank you friend. I gain peace of mind after talking to you. Anyway, the killed animal is not mine, but yours. I did not know how to convey this sad news to you" Farmer: "Oh, what did you do? you have caused a great damage to me. You killed my valuable cow. How can i live without it? Who are you to drive animals and kill them? what authority you have? I will now complain this to court and ask compensation." So, this way the life goes. When loss occurs to others, it is a fate. When it happens to us, we treat it differently. If we believe a theory, we should believe it fully and completely

Incidentally, robert kiyosaki also dwells on the same idea of learning from failures and taking a failure as a part of success strategy.Robin Sharma says "nothing fails like success". When you succeed, you get complacency, arrogance and that starts loosing the success again. Downslide starts. Why people , after succeeding , would not try new methods. Because of fear of failure. If the film is made with a bet that it wont cross the gross collection so and so, then it is success and the producer wins the bet. So, the failure can also be a success by changing our view or the deciding factor or yardstick. A student failed in the exam. On re evaluation, he got few more marks added (fault in sub totalling) and he passed. His old answer script only passed him. Or if the examination board lowered the pass mark, then this student would pass,making his failure into pass. Here he has not done any additional work or changed any thing in the event or process. The yard stick has been changed. The motto, object has been revised. Thus A failure may be the other side of a coin. If you go on tossing, heads will definitely come.

sarpa rajju bhranti is a very famous example in the ancient philosophy to know thyself process. Sarpa rajju brhanti is from sanskrit which means, mistaking a rope to be a serpent (sarpa) because of illusion . one day one king woke up from his sleep and used to shout " Know thyself" "know thyself". Queen could not understand what he means and asked why he is shouting know thyself . The king did not answer but continued to shout know thyself first. he is not stopping to shout know thyself. Then the prince and princess approached the king and asked "father, why are you suddenly shouting know thyself. what is your intention. who should know whose self? should i know myself now ?" The king did not answer but shouting like a mad man, know thyself know thyself, and also murmuiring know thyself to him. The philosophy teacher of the king was sent a word about the peculiar condition of the king. The teacher is a wise man. He came and saw the condition of the king. He asked the king "oh king what you want?".The king shouted " know thyself". The priest cum teacher, thought for some time, and answered that "i knew my self". The king stopped his shouting and with surprise asked how did you know yourself? The priest said, "oh king, i know am just I. But in my dream i forgot about me and was thinking that i am some thing else. When i got up from my dream, i knew myself. Thus i knew . The king understood what the priest meant, and stopped shouting know thyself and started to learn the methods from the wise priest. Thus he got self realization through knowing himself. We all are in a dream. We assume that to be us, which is not we. You have to come out of that dream to know thyself. Sarpa Rajju Bhranthi (The illusion of rope and serpent) When we are in dim light like twilight, we see a rope laying on the ground and assume it to be a serpent. We dont see a rope but we see a serpent in that , though in fact rope only is there. When our mind gets the signal of serpent, shivering,sweating starts.we shout, cry for help. A wise friend brings a lamp nearer to the illusionary serpent and proves that it is not yet all serpent but a rope. Then we get up from the illusion,. our body comes to normal. Now where is the serpent that caused the trouble? Has it come into the rope, and gone after a while? no. Entire issue is just because of seeing a non existing thing in the existing thing. Maya , illusion is like that. What is the reason for such illusion. The contaminated mind. It first will not see what really exists (the rope). Then it sees what is not existent in the really existing thing (serpent). It also then creates shocks and waves and creates more illusions like it is moving, it is hissing , it has stripes etc. This is a very good example of the illusionary world.Only the wake up call from guru (the lamp in this case) can drive the illusion and help us to see the truth.

To know thyself, the body and mind should be pure and ready to receive the knowledge. Knowing thyself is none other than receiving knowledge about yourself. knowing ourself that we are nothing but the pure, eternal atma and the eternal witness without doing any thing and without receiving the fruits of the efforts. The truth is that we are already that brahman or atma or eternal god. But we donot know it as we are fully covered with illusions. When you purify yourself with some kind of efforts like meditation, relegious studies, listening to discourses your mind gets purified and your body also gets purified because of some types of rules (celebacy, vegeterianism , non violence etc). In India, another method is prescribed for quick, sure purification of the body and soul to make oneself ready to receive the knowledge or teaching about his self from any guru. This is called Upanayana or initiation in to relegion with Gayatri mantra. This mantra is very powerful and surely purifies and protects those who recite it sermoniously.In other words it shows a sure path to
know thyself. This is confirmed by one and all gurus and saints.\nThis is practised , actually, 5 times a day and now a days it reduced to 3 times a day. It has to be performed at sandhyas. Sandhya means the joining time of dawn and dusk. It is also performed at mid day , noon. The mantra is also simple to recite but very very powerful. People recite from 108 times a day to 1000s a day.\nSince the time has three types of qualities , satva, rajas, tamas the purification by this sandhya vandanam (gayatri mantra purification) is required. The time from 4 am to 8am and evening 4pm to 8 pm is considered as the time with satva (pure form) quality where as the time from 8 am to 4pm is considered as rajas characteristic (dynamic, forceful,emotional); lastly the time from 8pm to 8 am is decided as tamas (sleepy, lethargic) type and only sleeping is prescribed in this. To save ourselves from the continuous trapping of events in these periods, we are cautioned to perform this gayatri worship through the sandhya vandana. In olden days, only few people are declared to be eligible for getting initiated in to this . Now a days, it is identified that this is a powerful, trustworthy mantra to protect ourselves and to help in knowing ourselves. So, all people from all countries are learning this and practising this. Adi Sankara's Rich contribution to Indian Philosophy

Sankaracharya contributed a lot to the Indian philosophy and a brief review on his approach and contributions for knowing ourselves. His Bhaja govindam verse is just direct wake up call for our know thyself quest.
Sankaracharya was a monk, (sanyasi ),philosophy guru, mystic saint from south India who changed the course of worship, understanding of the scriptures and the meanings of philosophy. He lived only 32 years. But , within a span of 20 years of time, he worked so much , the entire Indian philosophy gained lot of health, breathed fresh air and logical approach to customs and rite reached its peak. He started or supported the advaita philosophy (non dual) and made every body to agree to it and surrender to it because of his great intelligence and knowledge. As truth also is non dualism, every body should accept it. However the dualism is also correct (dwaita siddhanta). How can two things , each contradicting the other , can be true at the same time? Yes, that is the greatness of God. Gods creation and his mathematics are different from our maths.For example, in our maths, 1+1=2, but in God's mathematics, it is 1+1=1, 1+1+1+1=1 ; The figure one implies existence. What ever existing will exist for ever, it wont change. The famous sloka from Upanishads, if you remember " Poornamadah, poornamidam, poornasya poorna maadayate..." (That is complete , this is complete, if you subtract THAT from THIS THAT only resides.
So, in such mathematics and Maya creation, dualism and non dualism exists, both try to explain HIM. He is explained by these two and many more also. But , from our point of angle, non dualism stands good for greatest logic. Non dualism says, that there exists only one thing that is supreme Brahman. Nothing else other than that and it is not second to anything, and no second to it also.
This great principle was spread across the country by Adi (The first) Sankara acharya and from then on it is the basic principle to test or to explain any theory.Adi sankaracharya was born in kerala , around 300AD in a village called Kaladi. He took sanyasa at the age of 7 and there on he was wandering across the country, defeating many pundits in the philosophical arguments. He made many great scholars as his disciples , because of his great philosophy and also because of his personal greatness. He established many centers in India to spread this Philosophical education . These are link Shaolin temples in china, spreading martial arts. Each center will have highest order monk heading the activities. Kanchi peetha, sringeri peetha, joshi peetha etc. Sankaracharya (Sankara) wrote wonderful books , commentaries on many Upanishads and epics and these are basis for reference for the contemporary saints and gurus of present day.
One important thing from Sankara , we have to note is: He noticed that neither the pure bhakti worshippers are attaining moksha or salvation nor the pure philosophers . He created many stotras, or god praising songs for worshipping different gods. he indirectly suggested that one should purify his mind and body with these stotras, psalms and walk on the path of self realization through philosophy. Because , nirvana, or salvation comes only through supreme self knowledge. "jnanad eva tu kaivalyam". (salvation only through supreme knowledge). The great contemporary philosopher sri sundara chaitanya mostly depends on the reviews, commentaries provided by Adi sankaracharya to explain any critical issue in the religion, philosophy. Thus the great mystic saint sankaracharya contributed very much for mankind for their self realization, to help them to know themselves.

He just finds himself here, here and now, and has to ask himself 'Who am I? What am I?' All the devotees pray when they face troubles. Non devotees too pray for help secretely when they are in dangers, mishaps and difficulties. Thus with a belief that some unknown protector of the universe listens to our prayers pray God . But the question is god does listen to us? The concept of God listens true?. God definitely listens to every thing. He listens to even the whisper of an ant. But will he give what we want is questionable. God created the world, universe with his objective and maintaining it with it. God wants us to know ourselves. He prescribes self realization through hard work and efforts. But what we do? we pray him for our love, marriage, children, health and every thing. God arranges our marriage for his devine purpose. But , meanwhile, with anxiety we pray him for a particular alliance . If that alliance is within his plan, that marriage takes place. then we think he listened to our prayer. We pray for offsprings. But , whether we pray or not he gives offsprings to many and many to further this creation. But we think we are blessed with children. No harm in thinking like this, but the truth is God will not change his objectives for our prayers.

Tyagayya is a telugu devotee and worshipped relegiously Sree Rama and had nirvana from his musical worship of God. He is a karana janmudu which means, a person took birth with a purpose. All his life , he was composing excellent lyrics, songs on God Rama and dedicated to Him only, denying the riches offered by local king asking to dedicate songs to him and to compose songs on him. Tyagayya is also called as Tyagaraj, tyagaraja Bhagavatar and he is the maestro in karnatic music. All the karnatic musician respect him and treat him as their guru and sing definitely his compositions in every concert. Tyagaraju lived in the years of 1847, well in our age. He got the darshan of God Rama which means he has seen God with his eyes. He was given the great celestial Music book Swara arnavam by Narada. From reading it he learnt most esoteric music lessons and composed on Lord Rama kritis which means lyrics and dedicated to God. He was a very serious God worshipper and daily he used to repeat the name of Lord Rama thousands of times. He got power because of the recitation. He got help from Maruthi, or anjaneya or monkey God in getting the darshan of rama. He learnt music from another music scholar sonti venkata ramana. Tyagaraja bhagavatar lived in present tamilnadu state ,near kaveri river. Five of his compositions are called pancha ratnas and all the music scholars of karnatic music sing them in tyagaraja aaradhana utsavas, that is the annual celebrations of tyagaraja. He has shown one way to please God through music. He has devine blessings in composing these songs, so they will be there forever.

Narada is a celestic saint who appears in all epics, puranas and mythological stories of vedic philosophy. Narada is son of Brahma.It is also told that narada was originally son of a washer man but attained nirvana and got the entity of Brahma's son. His main business is to sing the glory of Lord vishnu. He always recites the name of the Lord "Narayana". He moves from one place to another place singing the glory of the supreme lord. He meets many people, demons, kings, demi gods and in this interaction he will be the key factor for a great story to be enacted. All people used to call him as a trouble maker.
The most significant thing is , he is the number one in bhakti, in singing the name of lord with devine music and to help all the spiritual aspirants.He has a musical instrument called Veena and he plays all songs on it.
Significance of Narada
Because of our fortune, we have a sastra, or book written by him millineums back or atleast centuries back. The name of the book is "Narada Bhakti Sutras"( Principles of devotion by Narada). These laws or principles defined by sage Narada are of extreme importance, pithy and well defined. The greatness you can see by going through the principles definition. No extra word is used in a principle definition.Each law is very concise, apt and terse.No one can define in such a way, unless he is the master sage. Each law may have 3 to 8 words only. But the entire law needs 200 lines of explanation, commentary because the concept handed over by that law is such an important one.
By studying these laws, one can have a comprehensive idea what a really devotion means, how a person should develop devotion, what are the hurdles in the devotion path, how to over come.

We can not treat narada as some imaginary character in epics.In 1850 onwards, one great musician lived in India and his name is Tyagaraj. He became the guru for carnatic music and ragas (tunes).He passed away around 1910 or so. He was a great devotee or Lord Rama. Narada came down for him to teach some esoteric lessons about music and handed over a great celestial book " swara arnavam" to him. After that Tyagaraja became world famous and now entire world treats him as the maestro in music. If some one wants to become a great devotee or a great musician, they can take the help of Narada by worshipping him. How to worship? By just reading his works and longing for him only.

We have no choice while coming into this world. we have no control while we depart from here. Then what control do we have on us? what we can do on this life? When we study the entire universe, we can know that there is order in every thing. A purpose behind every thing. Some we can not understand with our limited perspective senses or knowledge. The sun emitting heat and light for the earth planet, creating climates systematically, not revolving, the atmosphere around earth, rains every thing confirms the order and the purpose. The entire science is only to explore the existing orders, purpose behind them. The creator is very very wise and he has perfect planning, order , objective behind every creation. So, there must be objective behind our life too. The objective is very complicated but in simple terms know thyself. Know yourself and your true nature. Then you can automatically where from you came and where you are going. The purpose of life is to achieve higher evolution. The final state in the evolution of a living being is reaching Godly status or reaching its original form. Reaching here means, not physically but spiritual evolution to the highest standards. The evolution starts from mineral, rock stage and passes through all types of living forms with an objective of reaching the Godly state. The last but one stage is Human form where you have been blessed with intellegence, logical brain and a heart . Here, after getting all these things we have to utilize them and reach the goal of self realization. Some times this objective may not be fulfilled in one life. But , what ever effort you put now and achieve some thing, would be carried forward to next life and can be continued from there. So, we know now that there is a clear objective behind our life. This is confirmed by all the scriptures, relegions, sacred texts and it is the truth beyond any doubt.

Is Vastu Shastra True?
We know , as per atomic theory, the property of an element depends on the configuration of electrons in an atom. The position of one single electron in the outer most orbit provides highest stability to the atom and the element becomes inert , like argon. The atom with higher valency, because of lonely single charged particles will have more bondage and form more combinations with other atoms. There will be sharing of electrons among atoms to establish strong bonds. When this is true, in the universe, defined by God, how can we not believe that the position of some building blocks in different array, configuration can not have an effect with a special properties.?
Similarly, in a sentence , the position of word changes the meaning. The position of comma may change meaning. Eg. "Stop not , hang." is made up of three words. The same words when arranged differently, " stop, hang not." is giving different meaning. Even the sentence constructed by human beings, the arrangement of the words (building blocks), position is giving different properties (meanings) , why not the real estate buildings? See this sentence: God is no where, and God is now here. just changing and replacing the letter (one single block) "w" , the sentence gives a completely different meaning. So, it is existing in the creation, that the position of any element, or building block is very important for the properties of the combination of that blocks. Vaastu Shastra defines where the fire for cooking should be located. Where water can flow , where heavy weights can be placed and where can not be placed. How many doors should be there for a room. Door to window ratios. In which direction entrance should be there. Always preferred to have entrance to east or north. That is when we enter into our house, we should be facing east or North. I have seen many houses which faced great mishaps when their vastu is not good. The troubles that a bad vaastu invites are like continuous ill health, sudden deaths, bankruptcy etc. If a house is already with bad vaastu, that can be changed with some modifications, which would reduce the ill effects. In india, 98% people surely follow this vaastu shastra . Without fear, how can all people follow a rule? When every one strongly believes out of their own experiences, then only these would be followed.
Feng shui is from china. That also indicates the same things, but in still lesser depth. It suggests what should be there in dining room, how the beds of a couple should be (should not be separted, nor made of two cots joined). Feng shui advises to have small bamboo plant in house, a frog toy, laughing budhdha idol, acquarium for the good of the home. Placing a poster of fruits, eatables in a dining room would be good .So, if any body has interest , this is a great area to research and explore with realistic data.
Countries also have vaastu, based on their sorrounding hills, flowing rivers. The great himalayas are a great asset to India and because of these great devine mountains on north sides, india flourished in civilization for milliniums. The other countries separated from composite India (that is india of 1800), like burma, pakistan, sri lanka, afghanistan, bangla desh are not flourishing but suffering with internal fights and became head ach for world peace. Separating from good vaastu and declaring independency ,(attracting different vastu) would change their fate. The vaastu of lebonon, israel are also interesting to watch because of their continuous fights.

He says, many people are not ready to receive , what they can by the grace of god. So, many blessings, many wealth opportunities come on to us and bounce back since we are not ready to accept , mentally. If you pray as said before, you will get it. He suggests, be ready to accept (opposite to giving). Never have a feeling that i will not accept . Have a positive feeling for accepting. (hindu monks never accept donations under the rule of asteyam(not stealing), aparigraham (not taking some body's thing even given). Anyway, the author suggested this way.He cautioned not to have conflicting wishes. some times we want some thing, and then we change mind and dislike it. This prevents the unknown forces in the universe from pouring the grace or grant of the wish to us.

God is an eternal witness. He will be watching the happenings in the universe without actively involving in these events. Men are provided with extra sense which is discrimination power and they are supposed to use it and live ethically . All their deeds are monitored by God and he makes the accounts of good , bad and provides the results to them at appropriate time ( as per his calculation). This is karma theory.Now the question is , if you pray god to provide you one million dollars to do some thing will he listen and help? No, because he is eternal witness without involving in anything directly and will not show any partiality to anyone. so, how to solve this problem? All the materialistic gains, can be obtained by you only by your karmas. After praying , if you work hard to achieve the million dollars, with a belief that God is surely helping, you may achieve your target beacuse of your hard work and efforts. The person who just prayed for the million dollars from God and looking at sky to drop the money bag from heaven , may not get his wish fulfilled because God has not taken the responsibility to provide anything from heaven.
There are two things left over to explain. Luck and God's Grace.
All through your efforts luck is a factor to acheive anything, what is this? This is a pattern of events that would help you to achieve your goal with less effort .Illluck is just opposite to it. The sequence of events would provide hurdles to your effort and makes it difficult or impossible to achieve.
Now Gods grace is a power which you can accumulate by good deeds, by praising God and other relegious things. This Grace is like bank cheque book and bank is having money in your account. Guru poornima is very auspicious day for all spiritual aspirants. Today , on this ashadha full moon day, the desciples, followers worship their guru , whom they believe fully . It is a day celebrated relegiously to honour our guru and to get his blessings in our spiritual endeavour and struggle. I remember, this day has got more significance from the advent of Shirdi sai baba as he suggested to perform the guru pooja (worship of master) then and there to him only, treating him as guru. Before that, people used to worship vyasa bhagawan who wrote all the epics or directly God as the guru. But , even in those days, true desciples used to worship their gurus, masters only. But common men were not practicing it. But after shirdi sai advent, common men used to perform this and spend the day piously. Sri satya sai is continuing this. All other gurus , presently on earch now are also worshipped by their followers , all over the world.

When we are determined to get more wealth, we should condition ourselves. This is obviously stressed by kiyosaki in his excellent book Cash quadrants. When they loose they do not get upset but learn some lessions from that failure. Similarly when they gain profit , then too they will not be jumping but would be very calm as if it is part of the game. This is an important quality to achieve anything as per robert kiyosaki. The same was also stressed by the author of millionaire's mind. He says that you can not become rich through your efforts if the same are driven by anger, revenge or sorrow. You should be poise while playing the game. In philosophy too, Lord krishna, the ultimate master of philosophy stresses that you should be calm in gain and profit. "Samam kritwa labha nasthau..." he says which means, take equally the loss and gain, the pain and joy. The person who takes all the duals as equal is called "muni" or "sthita prajna" which means the person with wisdom. So, it can be infered that either to achieve some thing in this materialistic world or in spiritual world, one should become equanimous and then attempt. The decisions should be made with logic but not with sentiment. Most of the times, sentiment plays greater role and it dominates 80 percent of our decisions. In such cases , it is difficult to grow rich. Robin sharma says, emotions lead to actions where as logic leads to conclusions. When we want to do some thing, emotion is definitely required , but we should be watchful. one important lesson what robert kiyosaki gives is, to achieve a goal we should follow the priniciple of BE, DO, HAVE. That means, if you set any goal, first you should become that person mentally. You should change your thinking, habits into that role. Then do your action plan. As a result, you will have the result. This is true for any goal like becoming physically fit, earning wealth or becoming a spiritual master.

one friend today commented on my ways of karma-Jessica case published his comment I guess we are fooling ourselves with that logic. As a society we donot do our dharma and we come up with all sorts of justification for allowing these kind of injustice and we pay the price for it. So let us not blame HIM and do something to punish the criminals - anonymous.
I liked this comment because lot of information is hidden in this comment though it appears otherwise.
I dont say the guilty should not be punished. He should be punished. But How and By whom?That is the question. As jesus rightly said (first time in the world), he who never committed a mistake should come first and punish him. ok, Thats why he is really great and enlightened guru Only such gurus alone speak extempore some universal rules/statements which are more powerful than the sacred texts.
my argument is : every person, without second thought demand to hang or punish or kill the accused or guilty. This is the primary stage of civilization. when you advance a bit by constent upgradation of your knowledge of the Truth, universe, we think in a bit civilized way. In second stage we think this way. "who am i to punish? By my punishment can i restore the loss that happend?" can you bring back the life of Jessica? no.
Ok, to prevent further such killings, the guilt has to be punished. This fits in to the wild law of eye for eye and tooth for tooth.(exchange rate changes from country to country , time to time!)
How many people would you throw behind bars, like this? as many as you can. But wait a minute, suppose if you use the same culprit/guilty to act against this crime in future it serves two purposes. The culprit would be punished and it reduces the recurrence of similar act.
In otherwords, if the guilty is asked to propogate the subject of being gentle and humble with women and giving up of alchohol from town to town for a period of 5 years, it definitely brings some change in the scenario. He should be sentenced to market this gospel and work hard to spread this all through the country at his own expenses.More over, he should be sentenced never to touch alchohol in this period which would be greatest punishment for such a rich and drunkard person.
Similary if you consider the Salman Case sending him to jail will serve no purpose to the communities of human and buck. If he is sentenced to rear one single buck and ordered to make them one dozen or two dozens and to publicise the concept of prevention of cruelty to animals in bigway through his hilms, he also would like to do and both the communities get benefitted.
Finally what i humbly present my friend is if we can supress our wish of judging some body in any way, and think a while for a better justice, the world gets benefitted.
Please also think how an enlightened guru acts in such circumastances for meeting the justice.

Insurance is known to every one. We all insure lot of things. Insurance of life, insurance of health, insurance of property, insurance of vehicles, cars, insurance of limbs and on top of these group insurance, that is insuring a group of people against some damage and compensation suitable to the damage. Normal people feel risk free, or secured when they insure. That is if any damage occurs to their valuable properties, life then they hope some compensation would be available. But what about real insurance of life. That is the worldly life insurance pays the compensation to the nearest kith and kin. The wife or son or kith and kin get benefitted but the person who is paying with his hard earned money and time will never get any benefit in case of a death. But what we now talk is insuring the life that he will get full life, he fulfils the main objectives of his life, he lives long time etc. Every one likes to live long and do meaningful things that they can leave this world without regrets. But who would insure? None other than God, because He only has control on every thing, every event and He is very kind also. How to win his favour to get our life insured? We have to please Him and that is the premium we pay to Him. What are the ways to please Him? Just follow what He commanded or suggested by His words, deeds . That pleases him and your premiums definitely insure your life. Praising Him also is a good premium. This comes under another Life time Policy. All relegions agree on this policy equally. When you chant His Name , it accrues the benefits and attracts His favour which insures your Life. Just like any Life insurance policy, God also created many varieties of policies to suit all the mankind. One policy works through selfless service. Another policy works through Knowing Him which is also called Jnana Marga, the wisdom path.

I wonder why many great and unfortunate things happen to Salman khan, the Bollywood star? He is involved in shooting of protected Bucks in safari, he loved Miss India and got loved, then rejected by her, he was charge sheeted on many petty offenses like driving carelessly, so on and so forth. While all these things going on, it would be painful for him to bear , but if you see as a history, he would be a selected person by the Destiny to shower all great and ungreat things on a single person.!! By the way, i feel another thing in his recent court verdict. He killed a buck in his safari, and it is an offense. But to harass him on that for years, and imprison him may not be a remedy for the cause of the law which was built to protect the endangered species.The buck killed is killed. If he is given a punishment of rearing 4 bucks into 100, it would be an apt punishment and the world also gets benefitted by it. now by this type of punishment, none is benefitted.

Different religions instruct differently to their people. These religious, spiritual instructions vary from place to place and country to country. Some times they contradict drastically. If we believe that all religions are pathways to reach god, self realization and to know thyself, how can we explain for these contradictions and conflict ions.
Christianity never forbade non vegetarianism. Jesus himself served fish food. But pure Hindu, jain, Buddhism forbid non vegetarianism. Alcohol is not bad in some religions. But it is untouchable in many religions. Christianity forgives adultery , if they confess and pledge not to do again. In Islam, they will be punished to death.
In a microscopic examination, let us take a case. It is said that shirdi sai baba took birth again as satya sai baba. Now, sri satya sai baba forbids non vegetarian food. None cooks or eats in the precincts of prashanthi nilayam. But in his previous birth, when he was shirdi sai baba, he used to cook non vegetarian food in a big cauldron and used to serve all the disciples. He used to tease his pure vegetarian disciple by asking him to taste the cooked non veg food and tell the taste.
Why so much variation came from one avatar to another avatar?
Fasting is good in Islam, and during ramdan month, people fast for 40 days. But, the Muslim fakir shirdi sai baba said that it is useless to fast. He forbade fasting. He forbade to search for God with empty stomach.
Jesus says What comes out of mouth is more important than what goes in.
But, here in Hindu saints say what you eat so you burp. Your body becomes what you eat.
when you consider all these things we are a bit confused. Some smart people take shelter under one concept of a religion for justifying their behavior like eating non veg, drinking alcohol.
But what i feel is, there is a good example to consider, in this modern world, and modern age. Computers have occupied the world, the time and the space. Men are living along with computers hand in hand and hand in glove.Computers have different languages to run. If you want to use computer, you have to write in Java, c, c++, perl, COBOL or Pascal. Any one language can be written for programming. But, while writing that language, you can not insert other language commands in that program. If you insert it will not run. Java is typing language. It cares very much for comma, semicolon and dot(.). If you ignore this pure punctuation rules, Java, program will not compile and run. some languages like perl, html, asp are not so strict as Java, while doing similar work through commands. But the point is , when you decided to do the work with one language, you have to follow the API, or set of rules defined by the creator of that language. Otherwise, you can not get the aimed result, be it Dell computer or apple or Microsoft make. UNIX commands are different.
In the same way, if we have to follow shirdi sai baba, we have to follow his instructions only. If you like and follow satya sai baba follow his instructions. This world is full of challenges for a man. The challenges may be for achieving his worldly goals or for self realization. Very few work for self realization.99.9 percent people work for material gains. It is not bad also. It may be most normal also.
All great saints, godly men agreed for this also. They never say no for our worldly business. Only thing what they advise is , "dont be carried away with your worldly business. Dont attach to it. Do it with perfect detachment." Detachment means, you will not feel over joy when you get million dollars contract or you will not depress when you loose your entire thing.
ok. Let us assume that we work for detachment.So, we have to find out ways how best we can utilize the unknown controlling forces, which may also be called demi gods to achieve our goals.
Now that all the epics, scriptures declared that it is not bad for a person to work for worldly business, and also some demigods and forces were identified to acheive this, it would be wise to know how best we can achieve our worldly targets using them.
Worldly targets are like success in exams(children, students), good marriage, winning goals in business, achieving back health, getting rid of troubles, debts so on and so forth.
For achieving these things, three objects are defined as useful. They are Mantra, Yantra and Tantra. Mantra is a combination of syllables which on repetetion will release energy or power that can be used to achieve our wish. You can accumulate the energy released by constant recitation of mantra for your worldly use. Different mantras are available for different purposes.
Yantra means it is some arrangement to achieve the energy or to concentrate the universal energy on to our wish domain to achieve the results. Yantras ,popularly , would be written on thin sheet of copper or any other metal . This yantra can be fixed in home and it will do the needful. Wearing gem stone will also comes in this category .
Tantra looks like a combination of above two and some times it is risky to take this path. Tantra involves in conducting some rituals, using some items in a prescribed way to achieve the results.Black magic comes in to this category. To achieve benefits through tantra , it is always advisable to have a guru or a guide who knows ins and outs of this tantra.
India is full of people with tantra but normal people are away from these tantriks and discourage these activities.
So, to achieve our goals the first two methods are sufficient. We can win in our race for achievement by utilizing mantra and yantra which are harmless.
These methods will be discussed here, and anybody who has some interest in these things may experiment and find results.

One more thing. in Living with Himalayan masters, one great incident was quoted. Swami Rama was living in a hermitage in Himalayas where one more great yogi, or pundit was living. The second yogi, is always arguing that there is no god. His arguments were such strong and profound, no body could deny. Swami Rama wanted to teach a lesson to him with the help of god , if God permitted. Rama took him to deeper Himalayan mountains, which the second yogi liked to visit. Suddenly they were caught in a great snow rain, for days together. They took shelter in a small cave for days, but no signs of receeding of this snow toophan. Rama suggested to the depressed yogi,who lost his nerves and hope on life, that Rama would pray God to receed provided the second yogi agrees God exists. The second yogi, thought for some time and agreed. Rama took chance, prayed to the unseen God to receed this snow fall to convince the second yogi and to change him. Within one hour the snow fall receeded completely. The second yogi changed himself, became calm and spent his rest of life in new direction in Himalayas.

Very important question we get when we think of horoscopes,destiny,fate; etc is:Are we free to lead a life here on this earth,or we are fully destined to live in a predetermined wayMany people think that we are just nothing other than puppets in the hands of destiny, what ever should happen in our life has already been determined and the same can be read through horoscopes and palmistry like sciences.This may not be true. Because, if our life exclusively depends on our past karmas and our prarabda, what for we are here? what is the value for our intellegence, hardwork,and guru's blessings?

These three are very valuable in this cosmic drama.Then, we can infer that the horoscope foretells approximately what type of things may happen at what age for a given person or entity based on the birth time.This is true. Now , if a person has a very bad period and destined to be poor, his hard work may make him self sufficient or a bit rich. But he has to put extra efforts to go against the odds. If his stars forecast a happy, rich life at an age, with even lesser amount of hardwork also he can get the riches or happiness. (ofcourse, happiness is a relative term). Here what ever shortage of work he put, was compensated by his past karma which was the result of his extra work (balance carried forward) from previous lives.

Now the guru aspect. Guru is very powerful; and he knows the destiny or fate of his desiple. He cleverly amends that hardships like this. once one guru suddenly asked his desciple to go to a hospital and distribute fruits to the patients there and spend some time.After few days, the Guru explained him that hospitalization was written for him in those days.Guru, amended it by keeping his desciple in hospital environment voluntarily and nullified the fate by itself.One great rule is no ordinary astrologist or palmist can do anything to cutshort or enhance the life of a person.

The life span is not in the hands of a normal person , except sadgurus or masters. But these masters , saints will never play or use this life extending things, unless there are compelling reasons for the benefit of mankind.

Why to Salute God?

"You will realize Me only when you keep Me in your mind, pray to Me with devotion, think of Me, salute Me, concentrate and meditate upon Me in full faith." (Gita 9-34)
A very important verse from Geetha (Bhagawad Gita) for self realization and to protect us from the clutches of maya and perishing.
One aspect is interesting to watch. Normal man will not find any objection to all the directives like think of me, surrender to me but when the Lord says Salute to me, it raises a slight question in the inner minds of many.
why should we salute? what he gets by my salute? What he looses if i dont salute? Even if i agree to salute how many times i should?
The reason , perhaps for these questions in mind , is , in our world, we salute to some one out of acceptance of soverignity of the other. Normally nobody likes to accept another person as great. so, though he salutes to any living entity, he feels some thing in his mind.Even when God directed him to salute, his monkey mind frowns at God!
If you go a bit deeper, Lord Krishna said "mam namaskuru". This may be translated as salute or something else. namaskuru can also mean, na maha kuru, declare not mine, ; namaha is also translated as not mine ( na=not mah=mine). so, when you live by denying that every thing you see and feel is not yours , that may also can become namaskar to God. Even this thought is enough for Him to rescue us. Salutation need not be with hand or body. Mind is the best organ to reach God. This type of namaskar, or salutation leads us to detachment and God can easily show us the way to kaivalyam or salvation.
