Sufism

sufism is famous for some mystic expressions . It is an expression of contemporary eternal spiritual truths from muslim back drop. This sufism emerged from middle east, egypt, some parts of africa and associated with suni sect of moslims. They profess that the eternal truth is the god and mostly formless, yet every form in this creation is associated and part of that god. They subscibe to the knowledge of non dualism.The lineage of the Sufi Way was first established in the West in 1910 by the Indian mystic Sufi Inayat Khan. The teaching of sufism is from master to the desciple. The master teaches and desciples, followers understand and learn and practice the truth. Sufism commands for personal pursuance and experience of the truth by oneself and this has links with mysticism Zen Buddhism and Gnosticism. Our great masters ,like avatar meher baba and acharya rajaneesh often quote from sufi saints words. This sufism has inspiration and basis from vedic knowledge of advaita principles. They teach same thing what we teach in jnatum, drastum and pravestum. Many sufi poets lik Jalal al-Din Muhammad Rumi, al-Hallaj, Ibn al-Farid, Hafez, Jami, Ibn Arabi, Farid Ud-Din Attar, Abdul Qader wrote meaningful sufi poetry and propogated more the concept and philosophy. Infact , this sufism was there before the onset of muslim relegion.Sufism, during 1200-1500 CE, experienced an era of increased activity in various parts of the Islamic world and this period is the golden period in sufism. The Sufi cult has active study and practice circles in England, France, Holland, Switzerland, and America.
